chocolate peanut butter cupcakes

This is a not-so new flavor that I haven't yet added to the listing of flavors in the sidebar (sorry!) but can be ordered already. I took this photo 3 months ago, but completely forgot that it existed until now. Haha.

 Just some thoughts on the combination of chocolate and peanut butter– though at first it seems quite a western combination, I really think the combination of chocolate and peanut is also a traditional Pinoy taste. It just struck me that Pinoys have mixed peanuts with chocolate for centuries (such as in chocolate de batirol and similar drinks), ever since the Spaniards brought cacao to our shores from the new world. And we've taken the combination even further with Chocnut (and all its imitators). I'd like to think that this flavor just carries on the Pinoy love affair with tsokolate and mani.

It's just two nights 'til Christmas, and I've finished doing orders. Some pictures from the previous week:

This was an extra piece from an order this weekend. It's a red velvet cupcake, frosted with cream cheese frosting, and filled with dulce de leche. Finally, pictures again!

Some (Happy) Updates

1. I had no idea my blog is now FIFTH among the results when you google the word "cupcakes". And THIRD when you google "cupcake." What a privilege!
2. I am definitely sure to fully re-open by January 2008, am in talks with partners and potential sources of capital so I can finally get this business official and off the ground. Please root and pray for me and for chipper cupcakes!
3. I'm also adding two new flavors: carrot-walnut and apple-walnut cupcakes. Sadly, these were gobbled down by my testers (i.e. my family, my boyfriend, and my co-workers) so fast that I wasn't able to take any photos! I'm also planning to develop vegan flavors (upon insistence of my boyfriend, whose mom is a vegan).
