First Anniversary on Multiply–Thank yous are in order!

And I almost missed it!

I am actually pretty surprised that I forgot about this anniversary, considering that the anniversary of my joining Multiply is also the anniversary of when I started taking Chipper Cupcakes seriously. I went to work today excited because it’s our department’s feast day (it’s the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, whom our department adopted as our patron a few decades ago–because he’s a philosopher, too!) and went to work, checked students’ quizzes, and watched a movie that I was thinking of screening to my students…

…and it only hit me now, once that I got home, that I almost missed this milestone in the journey of Chipper Cupcakes. Good thing–nakaabot pa ako!

I was toying with the idea of making a promo for the anniversary, but it’s kind of too late now. But it’s never too late to express gratitude and thanks, and I have so many people to thank for making this first year of being on Multiply such a great year–it was much, much more than I ever imagined it would be. I mean–appearances in a newspaper and two TV shows, making so many new friends, and having so many new people try out the cupcakes that I really bake from the heart? I never imagined this when I started my Multiply site.

Where do I start?

I am grateful for all my clients–some of whom have become regulars–who took the plunge and tried out Chipper Cupcakes, many without having ever tasted my cupcakes prior to that moment. I am grateful for your support and encouragement and feedback! I would like to mention you all, but I’m afraid that I might miss some, so hindi na lang, para fair. But really, thank you because, if not for you and your faith in me, Chipper Cupcakes will not have grown so quickly.

I am also very grateful to my Filipina Homebakers Online family! What began as a simple support group that I started with Nikka Alejar has now become a thriving, active community of women passionate about baking. In them, I found my second family on the web.

I am also grateful to my friends (from college, from JVP) and colleagues/officemates, many of whom were my earliest supporters and taste-testers. You know who you are, guys.

I am grateful, too, to Ms. Anne of the Manila Bulletin, Kaye of UsGirls, and Karen of The Sweet Life, for giving me the privilege of being featured on your shows. I never imagined being on TV for cupcakes. Ever.

Most of all, I am grateful to the three most important people in my life: Mama, Dad, and K. Mama and Dad are my number one supporters in Chipper Cupcakes. Mama is the financial brains behind this operation–she keeps my accounts, helps me cost my cupcakes, and is even a “delivery girl” when needed, all while also working and starting her own business. Dad is the person who first introduced me to baking, and helps me bake when I really can do it alone any more. K. is my boyfriend–who has also been my taste-tester, driver, marketer, business consultant, and shoulder to cry on when the stress sinks in. Hee. Pang all-around! Without their support and strength, I wouldn’t be able to be where I am today, celebrating this first year of serving and sharing my love for sweet things.
